Motorists in the United Arab Emirates will pay less for fuel from November 1, 2026, after the UAE Fuel Price Committee cut petrol prices by 24 fils per litre across all grades and diesel by 5 fils per litre. The new rates, announced on October 31, end three consecutive months of increases and mark the first fuel price cut in four months.

New UAE fuel prices for November

Under the approved November rates, Super 98 petrol will cost AED 4.16 per litre, down from AED 4.40 in October. Special 95, the grade most widely used by private motorists, falls to AED 4.04 per litre from AED 4.28. E-Plus 91 drops to AED 3.97 per litre, down from AED 4.21 and below the four-dirham mark. Diesel will cost AED 4.75 per litre, down from AED 4.80. In percentage terms, petrol prices are down by about 5.5 to 5.7 percent compared with October, while diesel is down by about 1 percent. The new prices apply at all fuel stations across all seven emirates — Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah — and will remain in force throughout November, with the next monthly review due at the end of the month.

What motorists will save

The cut translates into a saving of AED 14.40 on a 60-litre tank of petrol compared with October. A 60-litre fill of Special 95 will cost AED 242.40 in November, down from AED 256.80, while the same quantity of Super 98 will cost AED 249.60, down from AED 264, and E-Plus will cost AED 238.20, down from AED 252.60. A motorist using 240 litres of petrol a month will save AED 57.60, while a 60-litre diesel purchase saves AED 3.

A surprise cut despite high crude prices

The reduction surprised many analysts, who had expected pump prices to rise again in November. Brent crude approached USD 120 a barrel during October amid elevated tensions in the Middle East, and global oil markets posted a sharp rise during the month. Analysts had told The National that the recovery in Middle East oil supplies would not immediately translate into a return to normality for the energy market. The UAE sets retail fuel prices once a month through its Fuel Price Committee, based on average global oil prices plus distribution costs, with rates approved by the Ministry of Energy. November’s prices remain below the record levels reached in July 2022, when Super 98 cost AED 4.63 per litre, Special 95 cost AED 4.52 and E-Plus cost AED 4.44. After the November cut, Super 98 is 47 fils below its July 2022 level, Special 95 is 48 fils lower and E-Plus is 47 fils lower. Prices are, however, still about 80 percent higher than in February, before the Iran war started, according to The National. The committee’s decision gives motorists and businesses some relief from rising transport costs after a summer of steady increases.
